Live your life, without regrets.
Live your life, without regrets.
Sometimes harder to do than we realise!
Yesterday was the anniversary of one of my biggest regrets.
A family member was very ill some years ago, my intuition told me I needed to be by her side. I needed to take the day off work, and be there.
However, whatever you would like to call it (guilt trip from the boss, an oversized work ethic, not wanting to let anyone down, all of the strings that pull our lives), stopped me.
I went to work.
I worked frantically on client's files, in order to leave early that day to go be with her.
I worked too long!
I received the call 10 minutes from my home that she had been called home.
I don't remember the names of the clients I did work for that day, or the work that I completed. Those clients have long since moved on, and my actions on that day really would have no bearing on them now.
You know how they say to put things into perspective and ask yourself "Will this matter in 5 years time?", well...will it REALLY matter in five years time?
For me the only thing that matters, the thing I remember about this day is that I lost someone who was absolutely precious to me. I missed the opportunity to hold her hand one more time. I didn't get to say goodbye, or to tell her I Loved Her one more time!
These things matter, and these things will matter in five years (and more) time.
So please live your life, follow your intuition, and live without regrets!
Pick up the phone now, go pop over for a cuppa, write that letter... whatever is calling you, please act on it and act on it now.
I hope this speaks to someone right now, and that you make the right decision in your life today!
